Thermoplastic gutta percha
CMS Dental has developed two unique endodontic obturator systems called Soft-Core and One-Step. They are both based on a core of biocompatible plastic coated in thermoplastic gutta percha. The principle behind the Soft-Core and One-Step Endodontic Obturator is simply a radiopaque plastic carrier covered with thermoplastic gutta percha. The thermoplastic gutta percha becomes soft and highly adhesive when heated to temperatures above approx. 100°C. When cooled, the thermoplastic gutta percha returns to a firm, rigid state. Another heating will once again make the thermoplastic gutta percha soft and adhesive.

CMS Dental uses Natural GPTM thermoplastic gutta percha for both Soft-Core and One-Step obturation systems. The actual raw natural gutta percha component is normally pure. However, what the manufacturer adds to it to produce "dental" gutta percha varies. We guarantee that the thermoplastic gutta percha used by CMS Dental is free of all potentially toxic elements, to ensure only the purest and safest material is used for your patients.
