The advantages of LED curing light

Working with LED curing light increases effectiveness and decreases costs, compared to traditional laser treatment. The cost savings for each treatment as well as the equipment itself adds up to 90%. The benefits of working with LED curing light are numerous - instant effect, no development of resistancy, easy to apply and quick to use. The LED curing light is not only effective against bacteria, but also other microorganisms like viruses, fungus and protozoa. The photosensitizers have far less affinity to mammal cells; thus no negative side effects in the treatment have been noted.

Treatment with LED curing light

The concept of FotoSan is a treatment based on the combination of a photosensitizer and a powerful LED curing light. The principle is known under the name of LAD, light activated disinfection, or PACT, photodynamic antimicrobial chemo therapy. LAD works by the sensitizer attaching to the membranes of microorganisms and absorbing energy from the LED curing light. It thereby releases energy to oxygen, which is being transformed into the highly reactive oxygen species ROS. These destroy the microorganisms instantly and effectively.
